The Real Pat and her Planets
Keeping something solely digitally is to never occupy a physical form, much like a memory it exists in a continued imagined state. With all of this impermanence sitting uncomfortably, I 3D-printed the digital sculpt I'd made from my memories of the fictional character of Pat Butcher and then painted it by hand. I re-created the balls from foam and filled up her head with them. Then I put her back on my shelf as a solid state object who might lose one or two balls but is pretty unchangable. During this time I was also helping with art workshops for people with memory loss.
